Students in Grades 9, 10, and 11 will be taking their school-issued Chromebooks and chargers home for the summer. The high school will NOT be collecting devices at the end of the school year this year.

Students are expected to:

Take home both their Chromebook and charger
Keep the device in a safe place over the summer
Bring the Chromebook and charger back on the first day of school fully charged and ready to go

Keeping devices over the summer allows students access to valuable resources for research, summer assignments/projects, college and career planning, and other educational opportunities. Even if students do not plan to actively use the Chromebook during the summer, it is still expected that the device and charger are taken home and returned in the fall.

If you know that your student will not be returning to the district in the fall, please notify the high school office and have the Chromebook and charger returned prior to the student’s last day.

If you have any questions, please contact parentportal@douglasps.net.

A huge congratulations to our softball coach, Chief Furno, on a well-deserved retirement from the fire department. Thank you for everything you've done for the schools and the town.

Is your car covered in pollen? Bird... gifts? Other mysterious substances? We can help!

The Class of 2027 is hosting our annual car wash this Saturday (TOMORROW) from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Douglas Fire Station. Bring any vehicle that’s silently begging for a bath, and our students will take care of it! We’ll also happily wash already-clean cars if you'd just like to stop by and support the Class of 2027. 😉

This is a donation-based event, so give whatever you'd like! All proceeds will go directly toward activities and events for our incoming seniors.

Thank you for your support—we hope to see you there!

Weekly Update
Hello Seniors and Families,

Due to the possibility of rain moving into the area during this evening’s Graduation ceremony, we have made the decision to hold the ceremony indoors tonight beginning at 5:30 p.m. Out of an abundance of caution, we felt this was the best way to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone in our community.

As shared in yesterday’s communication, graduating seniors should arrive by 4:00 p.m. and make their way to the auditorium with their caps, gowns, stolls, etc. The main entrance will also open to the public at 4:00 p.m.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we work to make this a special evening for our graduates and families.

Hello Seniors and Families,
As we continue to monitor the system, we want to be prepared for all plans. We will make a final decision tomorrow morning by 8am. This will allow us enough time to set up for Graduation.

If the graduation is indoors, we will have twelve (12) tickets available for each graduate in the main office starting at 8am. Any person who plans on attending will require a ticket for admission.

If we are indoors, graduates will still be required to be here by 4:00pm. The public can also begin entering the building at 4:00pm. There will be a clearly marked route to follow to get to the entrance of the gymnasium. The entrance to the gymnasium will open at 4:30pm for families to find their seats.

Should we be able to hold the graduation outdoors, we will continue as planned with students arriving by 4pm and no ticket requirements.

Regardless of where Graduation is held, the parking lot will open to the public starting at 2:00pm. This will allow ample time for our buses to leave. Additional parking will be available at the Middle School with a bus to shuttle families to and from.

Graduation will start at 5:30pm, and we look forward to seeing you there.Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Good Morning, At this time, the high school is without power. However, our generators are fully operational, and we are working with National Grid, who is on the way to make repairs. School will remain in session today, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely. Thank you for your understanding.

Weekly Update

Hello Douglas Seniors and Parents,

We are getting down to the end with Senior Finals starting on Tuesday. Seniors need to be on time for their exams. Failure to be on time may result in a 0 for the exam. After the exams are over, seniors are allowed to leave the building for the day. If your senior needs to stay with another teacher to finish work for the class, they are allowed to and can leave after they complete their assignments.

The bus will arrive at its normal time for a 1:50pm dismissal should your senior need it to get home. For seniors who stay after their finals and don't need to complete any assignments with their teachers, they can stay in the main office to study for their remaining finals.

On Friday, 5/22, we will be meeting with ALL seniors at 12:45pm in the Auditorium. This meeting will include the return of their Chromebook and charger as well as ensuring all obligations are met. Once we confirm all of this, we will issue the seniors their caps and gowns.

It is imperative for seniors to be on time to this meeting as we start the meeting once everyone, who plans on graduating, is present.
