Weekly Update

Hello Douglas Community,

The weather has struck again and will force us to pivot. Out of an abundance of caution, ALL after school activities will be cancelled today.

Our Girls Basketball Game is rescheduled for tomorrow night at 6pm. We will also be hosting our Program of Studies Night virtually at 5:15pm. Here is the link to attend the meeting: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81518293119

If you can't attend virtually, this meeting will be recorded and sent out to the public with my weekly update.

Thank you and be safe on the roads

Update
Hello Douglas Community,

Due to the Girls Varsity Basketball Game here at the High School tomorrow night and the Program of Studies Night being scheduled at 6pm, we have decided to begin the Program of Studies Night at 5:15pm so that parents and families can see the game in its entirety.

Myself and the Counselors will be available for anyone who has any questions after the presentation concludes and we will be in the DHS Auditorium until 6:15pm for anyone who can not make the new time.

We'll See You Then.

Weekly Update
Hello Douglas Community,

Now that the worst of the weather should be over, we have rescheduled a couple of things.

We will be holding our Program of Studies Night on Tuesday, March 3rd at 6pm in the High School Auditorium. This event will go over the classes and opportunities for our students as they register for classes next year. This also provides an opportunity to ask questions about the process and next steps.

Additionally, our Spring Sports Night will be held on Wednesday, March 4th at 6pm. This gives everyone the opportunity to meet the spring coaches and ask questions.

We hope to see you all there

Parents and Students!

The yearbook is on sale through May 21st. The cost is $56.83 plus tax and can be purchased through TreeRing (https://www.treering.com/purchase?PassCode=1014732489964280). You will need the passcode 1014732489964280 to purchase. Flyers are linked below with the information.

The books will include events all the way through graduation so they will arrive at the school in early July. Students will be notified once they arrive and can pick them up in the main office during normal business hours.

Everyone has the option of creating two FREE custom pages of your own to be included in your book. This is a great way to personalize your yearbook! (You can purchase more pages for a nominal fee if you wish). I have included instructions in the 2nd flyer below.

Sincerely,

Dear Families:

Every year, each public school and school district in Massachusetts receives a report card. Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in different areas. A link to our school’s report card is available at https://reportcards.doe.mass.edu/2025/00770505.

The report card includes multiple measures of a school’s performance – more than just MCAS scores. It represents a new way of looking at school performance, by providing information on student achievement, teacher qualifications, student learning opportunities, and more.

Report cards are designed to be useful tools for everyone connected to our school. Families can use the information to have meaningful conversations with us about what the school is doing well and where there is room for improvement. Community and education leaders can use the information to better understand how to support students and our school.

You will notice on our report card that we have made significant improvements to student attendance as well as making substantial progress towards our target numbers. To improve student performance in our school, we are beginning to make improvements to our math curriculum. We encourage you to become involved in helping us improve our school. We see parents as critical partners in the success of our students and school, and we are grateful for your continued support.

If you have questions about our school’s report card, would like to become involved in school improvement activities, or would like to request information about the qualifications of your child’s classroom teacher, please contact Douglas High School. To see our district’s report card or to search for other schools’ report cards, visit reportcards.doe.mass.edu

Sincerely,

Robert Ringuette
