As a part of the school counseling program at Douglas High School, we offer small group counseling sessions for students in 9th through 12th grade. These groups are offered with the hope that students can come together to share concerns or issues that they may have in common with each other. The small group format also provides an opportunity for your student to reinforce skills that will support and enhance his/her academic and social/emotional development.

Sign ups are currently open for small group sessions where I will focus on the topic of Self Esteem with no more than 10 students. I would ask that students commit to attending all sessions as this will provide the most consistency and cohesiveness among students. This small group will be held during school every Thursday last block for approximately 45 minutes, once a week in the library for 7 weeks.  This will begin on December 5, 2019.

Upcoming groups and dates for being offered are as follows. All groups will run approximately 7 weeks and will be held the last block of the day on Thursdays, to ensure that no class is missed by a student more than once.

Self Esteem: Thursdays 12/5-1/30

Anxiety: Thursdays 2/6-3/26

Mindfulness: Thursdays 4/9-5/28

If you would like more information about this or any group, or would like to sign your child up, please contact Lindsey Poulin at either or 508-476-4100 ext. 3109.
